Information for Potluck Dinners that accompany Shabbat Services

Mt. Sinai schedules several potluck dinners each year.  These dinners provide wonderful opportunities for congregants and guests to socialize in an informal setting and enjoy the food brought by other Mt. Sinai members.  Shabbat Candles are lit and blessings over wine (or grape juice) and bread are said before dinner.  Depending on the occasion, Shabbat Services are held either before or after the meal, and after Services an Oneg Shabbat with dessert is held.

Food items for the dinner and desserts may be prepared or purchased.  Our tradition is to keep the food items simple, convenient, and affordable.  No one should feel excluded because of difficulties in preparing or purchasing food.
