“The History of Jews in Stevens Point: The Untold but Amazing Story”

On Sunday, Dec. 3rd, Mark Seiler, professor emerituc of German at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, will give a presentation on the rich history of Jews in Stevens Point from 1871 to present. Prof. Seiler has been involved in extensive research on Jewish families and institutions in Stevens Point with findings and interesting stories that have even amazed long time Jewish residents. The research is based upon an exhaustive examination of archives, newspapers, and interviews. The presentation will include photographs and documents that reveal Jewish activities, conflicts and change in small central Wisconsin City. The program will begin with a breakfast at 9:30 am with the presentation at 10 am at Mt. Sinai.
